Provigil - Multiple sclerosis (MS) my story, sleep disorders severe fatigue

I have a disease similar to MS called Progressive Spinocerebellar Atrophy. It's a disabling condition with many symptoms that include ataxia (loss of coordination), double vision, the loss of fine motor skills (writing speech etc) and basic functions like walking and trust me their are many more problems that pop up as the disease progresses. I am 49 years old and was finally diagnosed with this living hell in 2003 at the University of Michigan after being poked and probed for a year and a half. I had to leave my job in 2005.

I am not a complainer but the quality of life sucks but I am used to the symptoms. What I can't get used to is hurting myself trying to walk. But there is nothing worse than the severe fatigue, it's horrible! About a year ago my neurologist took me off prednisone, a nasty steroid that did help me get around better because the fatigue was bearable. I crashed!! I hurt unlike no other hurt I have ever suffered getting off those things! He then gave me samples of Provigil. For me this drug is a God Send. The fatigue is still there but I don't sleep 15 hours a day anymore. They are very expensive, $10.00 a pill. I don't get shakey and am much more alert, there are virtually no side effects. I get around so much better taking 1 pill every morning then 1 at noon.

I don't have prescription coverage but after getting information from their site I was able to get patient assistance. I now get Provigil sent to my home free. Here is their phone number 1 (877) 237-4881

If you have any questions concerning my disease or provigil feel free to mail.

Thanks for listening and I hope this helps, Dan
